An array of vintage calculators, mostly from the 70's. I consider myself a child of the calculator age, I remember coming into school one day, we were all given calculators for math and told that people wouldn't need to learn mental arithmetic in the future. Of course this isn't the case and it's probably why I can't add up for toffee now! Go to swatch to see the detail.

glanoramay says: Thanks Amy, yes, magic eye posters, gosh they were frustrating! It might offer the answer 42 if you try ;-) My kids still use sparingly and only when they're specifically allowed, they get a row if they use them when they're not supposed to, we used them for everything, including spelling naughty words! Thanks to Veronica, thriled to have the approval of a former math teacher, if anyone would love this! :) xx

vdyej says: I just showed my husband this fabric (he used to be a math teacher) - I said wouldn't you have loved to wear this as a tie? He said "Heck, yeah!! That's neat!!" (Big praise from him since he's not a fabric aficionado)

pennycandy

pennycandy says: I love all color gradations the calculators make in repeat. Reminds me a little of the Magic Eye posters. If I stare at this long enough, will the answer to how the universe was created magically appear? ;-) I miss the days of calculators, when it was fun to just press all the colored buttons and not know what the heck SIN, COS, and TAN meant. Do kids still use calculators in school anymore? :-(

glanoramay says: Thanks Alex, Isabella, Rhonda and Vo, wanted it to have a look of tie fabric, if you know what I mean, a bit 70's/80's business man like :) So thrilled you all like it so! :) xx.

vo_aka_virginiao says: Bwhahahah, I love this for it's total geeky appeal and what looks like a wonky stripe until you look at the detail and realize it's calculators!

rhondadesigns says: The geometry of this design seems calculated to maximise the visual impact of the pattern at the minimal scale of the images! It is stunning!

glanoramay says: Thanks Angela and Sharon, no math for me either!! I did think about making it bigger buy I like the way it looked in FQ and yard, like you'd have to do a double take to see what they are :) Will probably do a bigger one too though x.
