su_g says: Just fabulous Deborah! I love the way you've used the two colorways - and your excellent button detailing!! - to really play around with the designs in so many different ways! Thanks so much for sharing what you did with these - I so hope your daughter likes them!

anniedeb says: Throw pillows for my daughter printed with beautiful designs from Su_G's "Crowded Land" collection. I sliced and diced the yardage and pieced it back together into patchwork pillows. The designs are printed on Spoonflower cotton poplin. The creamy white strip of fabric that is part of the pillow in the foreground is a scrap of Spoonflower faux suede.

su_g says: Thanks so much Boo! Where do these things come from? When I looked at it I saw a crowded aerial landscape full of strange things and patterns... and then everyone else sees other things: the beauty of abstracts! Thanks awfully for liking the total color scheme, of the collection: much appreciated!

anniedeb

anniedeb says: This shell is made from two fat quarters of Spoonflower Kona cotton. One side is printed with Su_G's "Crowded Land C Cream." The other side is printed with Su_G's "Crowded land 2a LARGE on powder blue." NOTES: There is no front or back to this top. Either side can be worn as the front -- depends on your mood. There are no darts. I hemmed all the sides of each fat quarter, then placed the right sides of the fat quarters together and stitched the top of my garment, leaving a space for my head to go through. :-) Then I stitched up the sides, leaving spaces for my arms to go through. :-) FULL DISCLOSURE: I wanted to be able to say that this shell had been made with only folding, pressing and stitching, but I cannot. I should have measured the space for my head to go through more accurately. In the end, I cut Vs in both fat quarters, pressed them under and tacked them to the shell on each side. The shell comes just to my waist and makes for a great summertime top. It will also work with jackets in the fall. Su's design printed very well on the fabric. While I was ironing the fabric, I could almost see the brush bristles in her work.

su_g says: Bunched yardage on cotton knit - the nice heavy weight of this fabric lends itself to draping & bunching, but it also hangs well in straight applications.

pd_frasure says: I am intrigued by how you use seemingly almost neutral colors to vivid effect, easy on the eye yet alive. I see a convention of intellectually playful seahorses!

su_g says: Thank you! It was so gratifying to see how close the print on quilting cotton was to the image view on the monitor - seems to work with cream, very keen to try it now in some different fabrics!

joanmclemore says: It is always so exciting to see a design go from digital to an actual fabric. This came out fabulous and with it looking this great on quilting cotton, just imagine how luxurious it would be on the sateen.
