My goal was to make something traditional with a simple modern edge. Using any extra fabric, you can also cut an oval out to use as a base, fill the bottom of the ornament with rice, and use this as a stocking holder or centerpiece! A couple more friends found HERE
use 1/4" seam allowance
â™¥ Cut about 1/8â€ beyond outside line (so your stiching line will beapprox 1/8â€-1/4â€ away from deer outline).
â™¥ Use approx. 5â€ of matching ribbon and fold it in half so it forms a loop. Place open ends at top of ornament matching seam allowance line.
â™¥ Place pattern pieces together, right sides facing (ribbon loop should be sandwiched in the middle).
â™¥ Sew around outside edge, leaving a small opening at the bottom.
â™¥ Clip seam allowance at curves making sure not to cut your stitching.
â™¥ Turn right side out, using your finger to smooth out seams
â™¥ Stuff with your favorite stuffing (good way to recycle your plastic bags!) and hand sew opening closed.
