Yes! Feel free to sell items made with my fabric, wallpaper, and giftwrap - and add photos and links from the fabric to your Etsy or other shop if you wish!

Description:

I was going to do a design of repeating pencils... still working on that... but meanwhile the pencil shavings caught my eye. Such lovely shapes! Photographed pencil shavings on white paper.

This pencil-shaving fabric is now available in a Fat Quarter collection too: buy a yard, get a FQ of this design and a FQ of crayons, spirographs, and marbles!

rhondad...

rhondadesigns says: This printed well Kelly! Looking at it gave me a few idea on how you might use it. Firstly, the pencil skirt in this fabric is an irresistible option. I love the skirt in your project image!! Another idea was for a satchel to hold drawing equipment with matching pencilcases. A mug bag and matching tote would be fun too!

weaving...

weavingmajor says: thanks Andrea! Before I got a nice sharpener and nice pencils, all I got was little flakes instead of long curls, with or without zigzags. But you're right, the zigzag shavings are so much cooler than the plain round ones!

edsel2084

edsel2084 says: Incredibly creative. In the tiny preview I thought they were shells or seeds or seed pods. But when I clicked to see it on its own screen, I smiled. I have had these great curls of pencil shavings too, but I never thought of anything useful to do with them. Oh, and it is the pencil side, not the sharpener, that determines most of the shape. The zig zag edge, for instance, can only happen on the hexagonal pencil. Not a round one.

weaving...

weavingmajor says: thanks Rob and Sharon! Rob - Ticonderoga pencils and a handheld brass Kum sharpener. I'm not sure which quality instrument made the difference or if it was both. I got tired of pencil points breaking off every ten minutes, and the leads being too far off center to sharpen well... the pretty curls are a happy side-effect!
