ball

ball says: Holli this is an AMAZING design, I have a ski cabin that we are doing all curtains and beds with one of your designs red being the main color. Have you ever thought about doing a combo of deer heads and some mtn/ski theme? A client would buy yards and yards if we could have some sort of combo.....

glimmericks says: I looked up what I have been using. #CC0000 is a pure clear red; #CC0033 is a slightly darker red, #ff0000 (pure red in RGB) is ORANGE!

whimzwhirled says: BTW, I do like the fabric still even if it is orange. The design is strong enough to pull it off but I do know the feeling.

whimzwhirled says: I had the same problem with my painting the town red fabric. I just darkened it a bunch and am waiting for the new swatch to get here. I have a buyer if I can get it red enough but I too may have to change the title to painting the town orange. I will let you know when I get it in a few days if it is better. I just layered a faded black over the top of the red and turned is deep. On other fabrics that red is a small part of the whole the red seems to do just fine. I have only had trouble with a surface shape of red.

glimmericks says: Holli - you might want to check out the Flicker forums. There have been discussions on this before and I am sure one or more of them can help you figure this out fast. @Raidmurphy - on the bright side, a fiery tangerine (Tango) is the Pantone color of the year! Depending on how you are using it you may be able to salvage through surface decoration if you cannot return it. Fabric markers, beading, sequins, embroidery, and patching all can be used to adjust areas of a design to make it suit you. Plus the embellishments can give it more zip. May not be what you wanted originally but there are many ways to make lemonade and turn a mistake into something powerful.

mairead...

mairead_murphy says: I contacted spoonflower when the fabric arrived and sent photos showing the colour difference but was told it is the way it is. They were happy for me to return the fabric but the cost of postage to return it from Australia wasn't worth it. I ordered a whole lot of different patterns from this range and all had the same colour issues.

mrshervi

mrshervi says: (this might help) Since I started using the SF Color chart for all colors, I have had less surprises with the printing of my designs, and I have been able to find a few reds that print as true, bold reds (like the rabbits in the design look on the screen).

holli_zollinger says: yes. a problem, sorry....i am still trying to find the best red to replace the orange-red that always seems to show up!

su_g

su_g says: The gap between reality and representation strikes again. I feel Mairead's disappointment & hope that Spoonflower can help if she contacts them direct as things do sometimes print 'off' - I had it happen with a mustard that printed green - but the reprint WAS mustard & SF are so good to deal with that it might be possible to get a better outcome.

whimzwhirled says: When it comes to reds I really wish spoonflower could fix what ever the issue is that makes them come out orange. I have had this happen before with reds. It isn't you it is Spoonflower's printing capacity.

mairead_murphy says: I loved this fabric and was so excited to use it but when it arrived the colours on the fabric were completely different to the image. It was very disappointing.
