Description:

Inspired by the dot motifs used by Aboriginal artists who call the Great Barrier Reef home.

What a delight this pattern was to develop. I'm inspired to learn Photoshop and Illustrator and am using the weekly Spoonflower challenges to focus my learning on a particular technique. This week I focused on developing a pleasing background made up of multiple layers of dots, generated from a single dot pattern created in Illustrator. I was inspired by the incredible work of Aboriginal artists. Thanks to

rhondadesigns says: There is an amazing feeling of depth created by the sparkling dotted layers of this design. What a great print this would be to use for landscape-style quilts!

krussimages says: This is a rich design. Your multiple dot layers show beautifully how a "simple" idea can have impact and depth. Good luck in the contest. This could do very well, Carlyn !
