weavingmajor says: Birchbark-wallpaper tote made from a swatch of this wallpaper; the round pencil caddies inside the tote are made from this design, covering empty TP tubes.

weaving...

weavingmajor says: wow, thanks majo, cean, kristopher, annosch and nadja!
Cean, we have GOT to somehow liberate that story-writer inside of you!! If you weren't also such a good artist, I'd tell you you were in the wrong job! Maybe we should all sew a quilt or cloth book out of all the fabrics you've commented on and let you narrate it! But I really do want your storytelling to be a part of SpoonflowerCon when it happens... ;o)

ceanirm...

ceanirminger says: Your flowers and layout are so lovely, and the antique feel of the flowers and paper just make me want to write a story around it! (...It was a temperate August in 1907 when Prudence Davenport first set eyes on Virgil Hollingsworth, She immediately dropped the bouquet of summer flowers she had been gathering for her ailing grandmother and he creased his blindingly white seersucker slacks as he knelt to help her retrieve them.)

francine

francine says: Yeppers. There are a few designs that would actually make fabulous fabric and this is one of them! Funny you had made it preemptively, but it so works!

uzumakijo

uzumakijo says: yay, i'm so pleased you are entering this, i think it's just a perfect fabric design...i used to make handmade paper with pressed flowers in, i always thought it would be cool if you could make fabric with pressed flowers in too...i had forgotton about that until i saw this design! it's fantastic...i hope you and chickie both do really well!

francine

francine says: Very pretty and super usable!

weaving...

weavingmajor says: thanks Rachel and Joanne! Actually I *did* enter this. Since I've quit designing fabrics for awhile, I figured it wouldn't make any difference for swatch-ordering if my daughter had her own account as she'd wanted. So we're both entering! But wow, there's some stiff competition already, I'm excited to see the contest!

uzumakijo says: yes i totally agree, this is really beautiful, gorgeous colours and layout, shame youre not entering it, i think it would do really well!

weaving...

weavingmajor says: thanks so much, joybucket and annosch! the swatches shipped this past Thursday, so I should know soon how it looks printed! and yeah, joybucket, I thought the same thing! it would be fun too to make a whole set of different patterns, some with only daffodils, some with only purple flowers, etc... we'll see... I'm trying to scale back on computer time, so if you want or if anyone else wants to run with the idea, I'd be thrilled!
