Two Rhinos approach a salt-encrusted waterhole. Design inspired by the textiles and wood carvings of the multi-ethnic Kuba peoples of Zaire.

I like this description of the Kuba as "a people who cannot bear to leave a surface without ornament" (Wikipedia).

su_g says: Thank you Ceri, Julie and Penny - really appreciate your comments and feedback. Saw a documentary on the Australian Ranger trying to support Rangers - and the families of Rangers wounded or killed in the line of duty trying to protect Rhinos and other animals from poachers ("The Thin Green Line") - which makes the 'target' even more poignant to me. Maybe a Contest focusing on the work of Rangers could also be a support sometime in the future.

Thanks so much for sharing the pics with me Dakota - you made my day!

su_g says: You're so poetic Rhonda! I love your thoughts on this design, especially the shrinking waterhole which means the - usually unsocial - rhinos need to meet to drink. Thank you so much for sharing and your very helpful and motivating words!

rhondad...

rhondadesigns says: Moonlight shining on a shrinking waterhole where rhinos come together to drink is the thought that comes to my mind when I look at this thought-provoking, elegant design,Su!

su_g says: Thanks so much Tina! My husband always says "target practice" for the dots (waterholes), so blokey... Looks like all the links have broken (grrrr), will try and re-attach later.

ottomanbrim says: I really love the slight differences in the greys and how you initially see the dots (waterholes) and then the rhinos appear! Gorgeous design, I love the whole collection!

su_g says: LOL Sue Ellen! I don't think rhinos go much for friends!

fireflower

fireflower says: These are still adorable rhinos! Although the nose-horn is a good defensive weapon, it must really get in the way of making friends.

su_g says: Thanks for your comment Deborah - this was the original title that suddenly popped into my head, and it speaks to me too - I think I'm partial to this design simply because of the title! So hoping it will proof ok but somehow doubt it...
