Description:

Steampunks! It's all about the details! The Geneva Mechanism is a real piece of 18th century engineering. Lovely Autumn colors will be dazzling in an ascot, cumberbund, or blouse. Recommended for cotton-silk, scaled at half this size...select 300 dpi.

I present to you a clockwork design illustrating the series of movements made by a drive wheel (at left), meshing with its Maltese-Cross-shaped stop (at right). You can see this movement animated on wikipedia here...go ahead, I'll wait: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Geneva_mechanism_6spoke_animation.gif Hypnotic, isn't it? That was the great thing about pre-solid-state technology...If you were clever and observant...you could figure out how your stuff worked. Sigh... It's all magic boxes now...Unless you go steampunk!

artgarage says: Also! I like this one printed at 300 dpi...a nice scale for neckties and ascots and whatnot... at 150 dpi...it's just too big...
