A swatch will be enough to make one black stocking. A fat quarter will be enough to make 8 or more stockings--depending on which fabric you purchase. ((The stockings aren't meant to be used as a front and back, you will need a separate fabric for the back.)) 1. Cut out the stocking at the outside of edges. 2. Pin to the back fabric--with right sides together. 3. Sew together using a 1/8 inch seam. (Leave the top OPEN.) 4. Carefully turn the top down and stitch into place -- or use a cute ribbon or lace trim along the top edge.
