The Franklin typewriter was designed in the 1890s, and had a very curved set of keys - curving the opposite way to modern ergonomic keyboards. The typist had to peer over the top of the typewriter to see the paper as they typed.

I was inspired by the odd shape of these machines and started playing with the aesthetics of the curve of the keys only to discover that when I arranged them in this pattern that an ogee was created. I'm a bit fond of an ogee... so here it stands, typewriter keys making patterns.

I have reduced the size of the repeat somewhat from the contest entry. If you'd like to print this fabric at a different size, drop me a line and I'll be happy to oblige!
