In an old suitcase full of antique photographs and letters, I found a single pressed pansy folded into a sheet of waxed paper. Someone -- probably my father when he was a little boy -- gave it to my grandmother long ago, most likely back in the late 1920s or early 1930s. I am making these guesses based on the dates of the photographs and letters I found it with. I scanned both sides and duplicated the pansy... in some copies I changed the colors to try to approximate what it might have looked like when it was fresh.
