It was George Carlin who said, “I like it when a flower or a little tuft of grass grows through a crack in the concrete. It's so fuckin' heroic”. This is always my thought when I see plants growing up out of the cracks in the sidewalk or even more when tree roots are moving heavy squares of concrete. It’s a reminder of how powerful and relentless nature really is.
