This is a clever design because you have not gone the route of portraying the eye itself as black, thereby suggesting evil, but painted the background black instead. The eyes to me are convincing, real. That tiny navy inner pupil really does work for me. Also at first the eye it looks harmless, but then the more I focus on it I realise it isn't!! Such is the nature of evil which you have captured very well. Appears benign, but NOT!
