My name is Naomi Wilson and as long as I can remember I’ve enjoyed making things. I remember making my first necklace at age 4, from plastic beads and string. From that point until now I’ve carved soapstone, crafted gourds, and sewn countless things.

Minnieme, first off- Thank you so much! as far as designing- you can start with something like Photoshop Elements and a mouse. Currently I use a Wacom tablet, and depending on the design Photoshop CS5 or Illustrator CS5...all of my mushrooms were handdrawn, then ink and colored with Prismamarkers, any uneven coloring was smoothed digitally. As far as where to start...check youtube- there are so many free tutorials there it isn't worth it to pay for something to start. When you are ready and more comfortable with whatever program you chose(there are more out there, that you can use- I tend to stick with Adobe just because I grew up with it) you can also subscribe to Lynda.com for like $13 a month, they have video for every program you can think of- even gadgets. Some Community Colleges also offer courses- but my suggestion is to start with youtube...and go from there!
