The house I lived in as a kid was built in the 50s and still had many of the original finishes: mottled aqua sheet linoleum in the kitchen, linoleum floor tiles in the bedrooms, boomerang patterned countertops in the bathroom. I spent 18 years seeing that counter every day, and even now, seeing that pattern makes me feel like I'm home. Here's a cat (inspired by the stuffed kitty my mom made me for my first day of kindergarden), a chair (I think we had one, once, similar to this but in aqua), a lamp and a clock (love that space-age mid-century design) with patterns very much inspired by our old ranch house in the woods.
