About the Design

Cut n Sew Panel: Yard x 54” Sew 2 Chestnut Hobby Horses DO NOT order a Fat Quarter!

Click: + More *** Now suits both 42 inch and 54 inch fabric widths. (DO NOT order as a Fat Quarter!) * Only the portion with the white background will print on 42 inch wide Petal Signature Cotton fabric with no choice of extra Forehead markings. ** The entire design including choice of Forehead markings will print on a 54 inch fabric such as Linen Cotton Canvas Ultra or Celosia Velvet. Minky may be used however the stretch of the fabric will cause the horse head to be larger and have a less defined shape than if a woven fabric is used. Hi I’m “Just Bananas Over Soft Toys” and I simply couldn’t decide what markings to have so I included a whole ‘Bunch’ to choose from. So take your ‘Pick’ you only need 1 FOREHEAD Gusset per horse (extra choices printed on 54 inch fabric only)! Decide on a preferred seam allowance width - pick either the Blue = 1/4 inch Cutting Line or Red = 5 mm Cutting Line. Cut out all the required pieces leaving either only the Red line or Red + Blue lines visible. Remember the Purple line is a Shared Cutting Line (everyone uses it)! Overcast the edges of the shapes using a Zigzag stitch and Overcasting Foot to prevent fraying and flatten the pile of plush fabric to make sewing easier. To make this horse you will need the Bonus Cut n Sew Tutorial PDF included with the “Wish for a Pony” Hobby Horse Sewing Pattern PDF available on Etsy.com Copy and Paste this Text to your Browser = https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/184225991/sewing-pattern-pdf-hobby-horse = to easily locate the PDFs. “Why do I need a PDF Pattern or Tutorial?” you may think “I can figure out how to make this horse.” That may be very true but why go to the effort when there is a comprehensive Step by Step guide complete with Photos and Zoom in Detail. Please be aware that there are a few pattern pieces that are included in the PDF Download available on Etsy.com that aren't included on this Cut n Sew Fabric. The PDF includes EAR Stiffener shapes that can be cut from a non-fusible Stiffener such as Buckram to give the ears more firmness (not needed with Celosia Velvet). Plus, there are Pattern shapes for a Ball that provides a protective padding for the end of the Stick/Dowel so that over time the stick will not damage and eventually protrude between the ears of the horse thus ruining it. The pieces for the Ball can be cut from Muslin (USA)/Calico (AUS) or any other scrap cotton fabric. I decided it was more beneficial to include the other HEAD Gusset options on this panel rather than shapes that can be cut from scrap fabric.
