I chose colors based on the spoonflower color chart, so they should print up with more contrast that what appears on screen. The background is a very cool light gray, and the aqua stars pop nicely against it. I drew all the shapes directly into the computer in a very retro sort of way, since I really love the look of vintage gift wrap. Keeping the color palette really restricted to 4 colors and white also helped get that old woodcut/screen printed look. I had no idea the birthday challenge would be such a fun one!
