design pairing down what I found to be the essence of looking Geek Chic.
Instead of using Illustrator to make perfect shapes, I used brushes in Photoshop to create hand drawn line work, giving the pattern a one of a kind handmade DIY look. I chose colors based on the spoonflower color chart: lots of warm grays and neutrals, with pops of hot color. I could definitely see sewing this print into tote bags for my husband to carry his records in. And even though there's pink and coral in here, I know lots of guys in the Bay Area where I live that would carry this print around.
