It's been years since I've read any of Jane Austen's books, and since I have four kids at home, I decided just to go with what I remember. What I remember is a bunch of women trying hard to act with propriety, decorum, and graciousness, while inwardly they are full of passions and loves and fears and tempestuous romantic feeeeeelings. And it's all hysterically funny, too... sigh. I miss those long uninterrupted stretches where I can read a good book!

So here, metaphorically speaking, are a bunch of passionate people, outwardly maintaining their proper social stature, sort of (the wonky boxes)... inwardly rejoicing, fearing, loving, emoting, wishing, dreaming...

su_g says: Ohhhh! NICE interpretation! So creative! Just LOVE this, right down to the PUCE walls (a color that was high fashion for at least some of Austen's time) AND your description (especially that "feeeeelings") - what you say is so true and so well conveyed in Austen's novels. This is really great.

fireflower says: This design perfectly tells the story of why I can't read or watch Jane Austen any more, and does it with style. Well done, Kelly!

victorialasher says: Love this, and your fabulous description. The "passions" in the boxes really do look like they are trying to escape. No wonder the boxes are wonky with all that pent-up pressure in them.
