This is a unique take on the Oriental Chinese year of the snake, their lustrous bodies bejewelled with mosaic gems inspired by Gaudi’s stunning architecture. Coiled into decorative swirls, the scales of these snakes are a mosaic of delicate glass pieces and pebbles. Flakes of blues, greens and yellows are adorned with flourishes of pink. Like gleaming snake eyes with olive gem centres, they stare strikingly. Hints of white lighten the designs and elaborate flowers blossom in stylised swirls. In other designs, the snakes sweep across the horizon as though on an Arabian journey, swathes of palms and a blistering sun high above them.
