I designed this for a cheerful beach house or, in my case, camping, tablecloth. Another idea I like is for a patio shade cloth or for awnings (thank you Fireflower!). This version of the design is centered: currently optimized for 54" wide linen-cotton canvas but I'm happy to adjust it for a different fabric width.

Another version, with a half-drop repeat which gives it a different organizational feel, is here, and another version is specially for gift wrap - with lots of blank squares to write names in!

See all my other check designs.

Chalk on canvas, mirror repeat (with strong center lines), currently optimized for cotton poplin (design is equal from the center for 42" wide fabrics).
[Fabric: currently set @ 357 ppi (proofed @ 357 - centered on one yard of poplin); Wallpaper: 250 ppi; Decal: 200 ppi; Gift wrap: 346 ppi]

su_g says: Thanks so much for your lovely comments Shirley, Tina, Rhonda and Sue Ellen! And Happy New Year to you all! I was so happy to finally put the new camping tablecloth through its paces (it's been ages since we camped). Rhonda those pegs have hooks at one end and were bought as camping pegs but I'm sure they could be used for quilts as well (and vice versa) - and they are indispensable to keep the tablecloth on, even though there's not a lot to flap around. Thanks again for your lovely feedback.

fireflower says: What a lively, cheerful cloth for the camp table ... although, that wouldn't stop me from putting it indoors on the breakfast of lunch table sometimes ;-)

rhondadesigns says: The printed fabric looks great, Su! It makes a perfect picnic cloth to spread on your camp table! Incidentally, I like your solution to flapping and flipping tablecloths when dining in the great outdoors! (They are the giant quilt pegs that I see anchoring the cloth, aren't they?)

su_g says: Thanks so much for your lovely comments and feedback Rhonda and Elizabeth, and Rhonda I have never heard a camping tablecloth described more elegantly than your "tablecloth for casual, alfresco dining" - that's exactly what I intend!! Putting some elegance into the camping!

rhondadesigns says: There is a feeling of sunny warmth and comforting cosiness about this design, Su! It would make a up into a wonderful picnic blanket or tablecloth for casual, alfresco dining.

su_g says: Thanks for the feedback on this one Sue Ellen - I did have a tablecloth in mind when I designed it, but I love your Texas idea of "lining the underside of my patio shade with this, so I could have the sunshine without the heat" - that is a GREAT idea!

fireflower says: I like this larger scale with the stronger grid lines, too. This version speaks to me of picnic cloths and summer slipcovers, as well as a kitchen/breakfast-room decor suite. If I were back in south Texas, I'd be thinking about lining the underside of my patio shade with this, so I could have the sunshine without the heat.
