About the Design

What does a little boy need when he starts school? A pencil case!

What does a little boy need when he starts school? A pencil case! Plus if he's anything like my kids - he needs a little treasure purse (or coin purse) to keep all those little things he takes for News/Show and Tell safe. Or what about a pouch to keep tissues in for those sniffles he is bound to catch! This Cut & Sew Fat Quarter kit has fabric for a fully lined Pencil Case, and a fully lined Coin/Treasure Purse - both with zip end covers. On the larger fat quarters from 54 inch and wider fabrics - you also get fabric to make a custom sized Tissue Pouch/Holder. Custom - because I tell you how to calculate the correct dimensions for your pocket pack of tissues. When the tissues are all gone - Mr Robot gives you a wave from inside the holder! You will need two zips, and coordinating thread to complete the case and purse. If you select a lighter weight fabric - I would also recommend fusible interfacing for the outer fabrics of both. Not necessary if you use the linen-cotton (which is what I have used, and recommend). For the Tissue Pouch - all you need is thread. Full instructions, complete with photos, for completing the project are on my blog - shelleymade.com (http://www.shelleymade.com/2012/08/zippered-pencil-case-instructions.html) The custom sized tissue pouch instructions are here (http://www.shelleymade.com/2012/08/custom-size-tissue-pouch.html) Also available in a girl version here (http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/1206800). © Shelley Aakjaer 2013
