Somewhere between the supposedly straight-laced Victorians and the Summer of Love hippies, lies this slice of pseudo-vintage psychedelia. The elements are Victorian (at least in feeling, if not exactly copied from a specific 1880's source). The colors are sixties Haight-Ashbury. The overall look in print is almost pastel. I say almost because these shades are darker than true pastel, but they are not intensely dark. The purple background you see on a monitor screen actually prints up as a raspberry shad of "purple." There is more red in the printed version than on my screen.
