Thanks Su and Claire. I don't really get the quilting thing but I wouldn't have thought that many quilts would be likely include jellyfish! :-o
Posted over 4 years ago.
This is easily my favourite entry in the jellyfish contest, and there are lots of terrific designs.
Nice concept and makes a classic design, with perfect light and dark color play. I can see this being added to quilting collections as a useful filler, or even borders.
Thanks niceandfancy and pennycandy. A master perhaps but this is actually a relatively simple tessellation compared with the army ants which most people didn't like very much.
You are the master of tessellation!
Wonderful and cleverly done!
Thanks. I never do know which ones the rest of you are going to like. It seems somewhat random to me.
Beautiful pattern and colour!
Oh they're pretty much all thoughtful. It's just that most times people don't like the result! :-D
A really thoughtful design
I'm pleased you like it. I do seem to be on my own this time in going in this direction.
wow, this is absolutely gorgeous. by far my favorite of this contest...
I mostly want to munch them! Which would be a very bad idea if they were real stinging jellyfish.
Really cool - it's got a 3D pop to it and they are undeniable jellies.
Well at least that verdict went in the right direction. ;-)
A description of "interesting" can so often go the other way.
...this is interesting, I like it ;)
Incidentally, I snuck a different optical illusion into this one - in which the perfect circle on the mantle looks like another ellipse/oval because of its context. But of course it doesn't quite show up as well in the squished view of the image!
I had a couple of ideas and it turned out that someone else had come close to my other one. So I went with this one. Though I should probably continue translating the basis of the other one from its previous format anyway.
I was also considering having some ruffles under the mantle of these ones but, being me, I quite like the clean lines.
oooooh - cool jellyfish!
