Proofed on several fabrics as shown in the thumbnails above (double click for a clearer view): printed well on cotton knit; cotton-silk gave the best shine (alas, no longer available); cotton sateen had the most intense colors. The metallic effects are spectacular! Such a gorgeous shirt!
Thanks for the great comments on my new top in this design, and glad people found the the note on sewing knits that I posted with the pic on Flickr helpful. I'm wearing the top as I write this and it is sooo comfortable and such a buzz!

The plan for this fabric...
Gives a better idea of how the pattern looks in cotton knit yardage (daylight photo). Can't wait to sew this!

It does make you want to touch it Rhonda! I've just ordered some on knit so will see if it works on that too. So far my fave has been the cotton-silk, because it echoes the metallic oils effect of the original...
The lushness of these gorgeous rippling waves of colour gives the design a fabulous feeling of textural depth! This fabric would tempt a saint to ignore a, "Please do not touch", sign!
Having practised seeing mermaid tails I had no difficulty seeing whale tails in this design! Thanks for that Shelley, I am definitely going to try it in ocean colours now.
Yes, I've always seen whales tails in this range Su... :) It would be great in ocean colours!
Ok Patricia - now I see the mermaid tails too! It's the obverse of the fox face shapes! I love it! Might have to do one in blues and sea-greens now...
I enjoyed that you called it fox face, because just before I read that I saw mermaid tails. A very versatile pattern, from head to tail in the blink of an eye!
Reversed comparison of the different fabrics with large scale on cotton sateen in the front. Blue is just a bit more indigo, red printed well as a red.
