I share an interest in fabric design with my sister ArtbyJaneWalker . I'm a quilter and have a love of fabric. I can set up photos for pillows.

If you desire a smaller print feel free to message me. This is set at the original size. A smaller version is this design set at 393dpi; http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/944243. An even smaller might be better for children's clothing. For my first swatch I actually printed this at 675 pixels/inch with the horses at 1 inch long, it printed great. Though probably 450 would be best for clothing.

This photo is slightly washed out on the left side. The right side is very close to what it really looks like. 393dpi size.

I have up loaded a slightly revised design with more space between the edge of the design and some of the horses to allow a little more seam allowance. I edited colors earlier, but I had not realized that I hadn't allowed enough space for seams.

This printed at 675 pixels/inch on a 8 inch swatch. This represents what would be seen on a 36 inch square of fabric at the original 150 pixels/inch. Some details have been lost on this small a print that would be visible at a larger scale. I have cut down on some of the contrast in colors on some of the horse since getting this swatch, since I felt there was too much. There was no change in the colors used for each horse, just the location and amount of some of them.
Well, I have never been good at drawing people. I use to draw horses a lot as a teenager, but I haven't done it much in years. I was really surprised that I manage to do fairly well with GIMP and Paint.net and a computer mouse. I did have a painting of mine and some photos as guides. The center horse is the original that is loosely based on my own horse that I had for 19 years.
Well done! Horses are as hard to draw and paint as people! Bravo!
Beautiful work Kathy!
Thanks for the wonderful comments.
I had originally planned on having them bigger, but I goofed on the resolution of the original. These would be a great size to applique to children's shirts. Smaller would be good for a coordinating skirt for horse loving girls. I hope to have quilt blocks available sometime. I proofed two horses re-sized bigger to fill an 8 inch space and they look fine. The original design of the sorrel in the center really printed fantastic bigger.
Very beautiful horses, wonderful work!
Beautiful! What a great collection of horses.
This is a wonderful horse fabric, Kathleen! This will be great for anyone wanting to applique these shapes!
This was a lot of work, but I finally finished it. I did have to change the shading a little after proofing it, but the colors were good.
