I only have a preference that my customer can see the detail. So whatever view shows the detail is what I go with. I'd rather they be able to see scale and dertail right away.

Ooooo! City lights! Yep, this *would* make a terrific scarf, Vo. As to which view I prefer, for this one I agree with Joan - I like the fat quarter view. However, my habit is to always look at a fabric sample in the swatch, fat quarter and one-yard view, so for me it doesn't matter which view is default. Except perhaps if there is a huge difference in the eye-catching power of one view over another. As long as I can see in the thumbnail that the design is something interesting, I'll have a look. Sometimes when the design is too small to be grasped in the thumbnail, I'll go look just to make sure I'm not missing something good.
For me it depends on how large my elememts are and now much detail is in a design. Without a true zoom I try to keep customers in mind: first look is important.
I know! It really is. I usually think the swatch does far better than the fat quarter and that tends to be the setting I select. For this one, I loved the way the deeper golden glow flows into the lighter golden glow and the fat quarter really pulled my eye into it.
Joan, It's so difficult deciding upon the swatch view or the FQ view. I always hope people look at the larger views as I think it's important that it look good in yardage.
This looks terrific on the fat quarter! You can really get the effect of the color ranges that way.

Thanks so much Su!
Nice to see this for sale - I think it would look great as a scarf!
Su, I imagine this on silk as a scarf. I got the proof (but on cotton) and I really like it.
An unusual subject but it makes a very interesting design - out of a common urban sight :-)
