Wow Cynthia, that is an awesome quilt! So many great fabrics, and they all work together so well! And such a fun quilt design! Thanks for sharing!

Your design was just the ticket to include in this "Binary" quilt I made for my son, a software development manager. He was 10 when computers came with a floppy drive...before that, he had a Vic20 and Commadore64.

The floppy disks make a lovely pattern in these subtle shades. Brings back a lot of memories.
LOL, thanks Amy! (I guess I shouldn't have mentioned my memories of floppy disks... hee hee?)
Oh man, I'm old. There was no such thing as a computer disk when I was in kindergarten, no home computers, no VCRs, etc. Diskettes came out when I was in college! Amazing how quickly they went away, though. ;-) Great choice for a subject. Looks great in multiple yardage!
Thanks Allison and theboerwar!! I remember spending entire afternoons, feeding installation disks into the computer... good times, good times!
So me! "Where's my 3rd of 6 King's Quest 4 disk??"
This is HILARIOUS! and makes me think of my childhood for sure
Thanks Isabella! (If it makes you feel better, my mom is a graphic designer, so we had a Mac waaaaay before anyone else I knew - none of the other kids had any idea what I brought in!)
An excellent example of out-dated tech. Great work. I remember when these were quite modern - and I wasn't in kindergarten. I suddenly feel quite old.
Thanks Rhonda! :)
You have made an interesting geometric pattern from this array of old floppy disks, Elishka! This should make some computer geeks feel quite nostalgic!
Hooray for my husband, who dug up some disks for this picture!
