I can easily see the design on this fabric as a Persian carpet. Whether it would be a flying carpet or not I couldn't say. Design-wise the elements in this pay homage to the world war one and 1920's era. It isn't strictly the modern of art deco. It also has some classical leanings, and some more romantic twists. But then so did real objects of the 1920's.
