This artist creates a Cuisinart of abstract mirror designs borrowing bits from Victorian, Edwardian, paisley, and art nouveau. She also draws orphan cars, and adapts a few very old ads. Most of her work is hand drawn with twists, vines & Celtic knots.

I confess. I'm old. I was a child way back in the 1960's and remember first hand the pop culture icons of Twiggy and Peter Max. Both are still alive as of this writing, and both are long gone from daily pop culture. You pretty much have to have lived through the late sixties in person to know either of their names. Along with Andy Warhol and others of the time, Max mined comic book sensibilities and bold flat colors to create a cartoon landscape for the times.
Though I have not used his specific colors, or quite the flatness of his work, this abstract geometric patch panel borrows the sixties pop art feeling of cartoon outlines, bright solid colors, and floating stars.
This was not the hippie psychedelic sixties style. This style was adopted by trendy midwestern housewives and advertising agencies. This kind of pop art sixties was thoroughly mainstream. Even the post office had a Peter Max stamp out and you know the only counterculture at a post office is when you have to stand in line to get to the counter.
I offer this as fabric for use in period correct costume and theater type work. The period in question is around 1966.
