Message me for resizing designs or colors changes and turning designs 90 degrees to better use the fabric. I share an interest in fabric design with my sister ArtbyJaneWalker . I'm a quilter and have a love of fabric. I can set up photos for pillows.

Description:

A 4 color design with clusters of pine needles and pine cones as these might appear on the ground after a hard wind storm.

A 4 color design with clusters of pine needles and pine cones as these might appear on the ground after a hard wind storm. I will gladly size this down. Feel free to message me. This is more than life size. The pine cone in the bottom left is about 7 inches long.

meredit...

meredithjean says: I agree with Donna's comment that you have captured a mid-centure feel here. These colours are almost so 'uncomfortable' with each other that your hard work truly pops. SO well done, very inspiring. I truly understand how long you would have spent on this :)

khoward...

khowardquilts says: I have left this the full size for now, but I think it would look best at about half the size so that the pine cones would be closer to life size. The colors printed very close to what I see on my computer.

su_g

su_g says: Excellent repeat for this very complex design! Great job given the limited colorway.

khoward...

khowardquilts says: Jane, thanks for your lovely description. It took a lot of work to get it balanced and using only 4 colors I had to eliminate or cover some details, like the branches that were in the original inspirational photos. It is natural looking without actually looking like a photo.

artbyja...

artbyjanewalker says: This design is natural-looking, yet balanced, and the repeat is soft and does not interfere with the effect of fallen boughs. That's not easy to achieve!

khowardquilts says: I decided that I had to call this done and enter it. It is one of those designs that doesn't seem to have an end to tweaking it. I must do Christmas cards instead.
