American stars meet up with Gothic stripes in an assortment of delicate and tangled twists and turns and weaves. Within the horizontal stripe design are paisleys, hearts, diamonds, tangles, pseudo Celtic string interactions, and a pointed petal headdress that has me wanting to hold Lady Liberty's torch up to New York harbor.
As the Kinks suggested in the lyrics to the song "Lola," (this is) "a mixed up muddled up, shook up world" with bits of church architecture, fireworks, royal crowns, new spring plants, and scallops all shoved into a Cuisinart to make them work together. In other words, this is a portrait of what America is like.
