A BELL FOR GIVING TWO

A BELL FOR GIVING TWO (26 views)

Going up to Vermont to see my mom, I stopped along the way at a shop to buy her some ribbon candy. As I walked towards the shop, I heard the familiar sound of a bell ringing. The season brings volunteers out to collect for the less fortunate. Standing out in the freezing cold, clad with red Santa hats and smiles, these people ring the bell to call us to give a donation for the poor. As I got closer, I put the money in the red bucket and asked the woman if she was cold. She said "Yes, it is pretty cold today, but I do this every year. You see this charity helped me and my children when they were young. When I get home I feel very warm because my heart is warm". I knew as I drove away, what I might design for this week's contest BELLS theme. My inspiration is for A BELL FOR GIVING. All artwork protected by copyright © all rights reserved The design is comprised of many tiny bells against a backdrop of gifts and more bells. This fabric is called A Bell for Giving. The little girl represents the childlike heart of giving I saw in that woman's spirit. I have designed a few fabric designs to coordinate with this one. The collection is called The Gift of Giving.
