i like this a lot
Thanks for the comment, strangeangel! I'm so happy that you are making up this book to give as presents. :)
I LOVE this! :D I'm thinking of making one for two little future geeks I know: Atom (boy being raised as he winds up preferring, on the off chance it turns out he isn't a "he") and Willow Danger (girl who has a hideously high IQ'd-and-devious father - this man WOULD be a mad scientist if he weren't such a big softie-soft!)
I don't think making science toys in pink necessarily does any harm - any more than giving pink toys to boys does any harm, but what kills me is when they make them pink and give them softer, roundy edges and dumb down the information. Girls don't need it "easier to absorb"! There's a big difference between changing the style and giving into the stereotypes of "girls can't math."
...anyhow. LOVE this book! -squee!- I can't wait to make a pair and see the parents' faces!
Thanks for the comment! As a female software engineer, I couldn't agree more. I did try to make all the babies in the book gender-neutral so they could be read either way. Even if a green polka-dotted onesie strikes most people as something for a boy, the lavender background hopefully pushes it back onto middle ground. :) It's a tough call - should STEM toys try to be gender-neutral so that girls can see that it's ok for them to play with the same toys the boys have? Or should there be "girly" versions of such toys in hopes of sparking more interest? For what it's worth, my own 2-year-old son isn't all that interested in his copy, while my three-year-old niece is fascinated. :)

This a fabulous. I love it! A version with a girl on the front would be a great option for our little girls to emulate being equally geeky...
Any chance of a girl version? With the decline of girls taking science and mathematics it's time to sow the seeds at a young age!

I'm a software developer, and I definitely will buy this, even though my kids are past the baby book stage.
Thanks, all! I enjoy reading your comments. I'm glad you like it. :)
This is so funny! Love it!!
I love that you came up with this idea!!
This is a great idea for a baby's book that is relevant to the age of computers! So many babies seem to know how to press all of the right buttons long before they can talk!
Thanks for the comments! I had a lot of fun with this design and I'm thrilled to discover other folks think it's neat. :)
This is great! What a fun idea!
very geek inded, I love it
Thanks, guys! I'm glad you all like it. @vdyej - I'm a programmer too, so it's nice to hear another programmer appreciates it. @haleystudio - I'm going to make it available to purchase as soon as my proof arrives, so stay tuned! Thanks again!
HA! I love it. I would totally buy one. Or three.
Fantastic - my husband (a programmer) was duly impressed! So original! :)
