SUE...i love this pattern....beautiful!!!!
Daylight photo of yardage printed on cotton sateen. After a number of color corrections to improve the red, I'm so pleased with how this printed: crisp black and a good red!

Hey thanks Donna for the tunic length idea, i like that!
Love the idea of full-on Suzy Wong. Or pull back a bit and make it tunic length to wear over black tights or trousers.
The red jacket & original fabric design...
I started designing this fabric because I had a vision of a little jacket but couldn't find material... now the red's been color corrected (to #D3283A) it's finally ready to go...
I see you plan to keep me very busy Susan! And I already have such a sewing backlog... but I too can see it in a sexy cheongsam... (reminding me of a film I loved as a child: Suzy Wong).
for some reason I am stuck on seeing this made into a 1950's Dior cocktail dress. Or a tight, sexy cheongsam.
More ideas for it - thank you Rhonda - I think it is just one of those simple classics... I originally designed it for a little jacket because I couldn't find anything like this & sewing black chain stitch on red fabric to make the pattern was too tedious & made it too stiff... Now I have the red the right colour the coat is back on track, & in the meantime there are all these other good ideas for it.
This stunning pattern would make a fabulous, softly sculpted tunic top in the silk/cotton blend!
Hey thanks for that idea Janet! I'd been thinking about a book cover for my design ideas book, but I like the idea of end covers, have always admired them in art books & so on where there are some beauties.
When SF starts printing on paper, this would be fine for book endpapers.
