I envisioned this fabric to embellish a Mardi Gras costume. I hope you can "hear" the bells bouncing on the feather tips. This bell is adapted from a precolombian hawk's bell used on wikipedia by Aaron Walden. I drew the feathers separately in colored pencil.

Using seam binding and corded piping, assembled this cap by measuring around my head and adding enough height to gather the top. The colors in these hat photos are quite accurate.
