This Hawaiian quilt design has gone through several iterations since the Hawaiian quilt contest which inspired it. The colors are now darker and muted, not Hawaiian at all. (It isn't dull when it's my favorite color! Actually, I discovered that this design worked better in a less contrasty, more complex version.) The colors have been tested in the new July 2012 Spoonflower color system v2.1. ___ The center papercut design has parts of the feathers which are reminiscent of the echo quilting in Hawaiian quilts. ___ The 2-papercuts diagonal design in the corners, which inspired the original design, along with an attempted papercut of the center, (much easier in Illustrator) will be available in the matching color soon. So will a pillow-cover fabric, and a version for wider fabrics which has 2 pillow-tops at the end.
