I designed this scarf to fit on one yard of fabric. Each panel is hemmed and sewn together at the top to fall behind your neck. The scarf can hang down on each side with the Grandmas cascading down the front. The scarf looks lovely tied in all the conventional ways.
I always thought this painting would make a gorgeous silk scarf. Thanks to Spoonflower's new cotton silk fabric, I was able to realize a design dream.. It just arrived and I am in love with the cotton silk fabric. Memories of walks in Tai Tam in Hong Kong watching the Chinese Grandmothers climb the steep hills. I lived in Hong Kong for five years and the vivid colors and sights painted in my memories are often on my mind. This is taken from my original watercolor painting, using watercolor and Asian papers. This design is part of the many designs in my Hong Kong collection. Here is the design printed on Cotton Silk fabric.
