Thanks, Janiece! Your sweet comment totally made my day :-)

Thanks for stopping by my shop. I just came to see yours and I think this may well be the most favorite fabric I have seen on spoon flower. The combination of the colors, design and my favorite part the whimsical irony come together in a perfect weave. Now that I am here I recognize your work and have been an admirer for awhile. I'm a seasoned artist just having fun here but you truly have the gift for fabric design. Kudos to you.
Thanks, Kristie :-)
Thanks for the fantastic comment, Brooke!
Thanks, Christy. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the comment! I love this collection--the texture of the backgrounds, the gracefulness of the branches, & the happiness!
Thank you very much!
This is so cute. The whole collection is adorable. :)
Thank you for the lovely comment, raasma.

Thanks Grace and Kelly!
so glad you are back!
great design, it flows beautifully!
Thanks, Allison. I'm so glad you like it!
Awww, thanks Zoe :)
Wow your collection is just fantastic!! good luck in the contest!
Yeaaaaah! I had already voted... so I logged out and voted again, just for yours. Hope it gets counted for you! Its a great design!
Thanks for the supportive messages and comments, everyone. I heard back from Stephen a short time ago. He apologised for the mistake and let me know that my entry has been put back into the contest. Of course, it did miss more than four hours of the competition and with them that first rush of eager voters. Ah well.
I didn't get a moderation email this week either. No way should this have been booted. Fabulous design ~ so sorry for you xxx
So, so, unfair - brilliant design totally within the brief, very very sad!
Hmmm, was this contest moderated? I didn't receive an email for moderation. I wonder if anyone else did? This should have made it in.
I am sorry your design was not included in the contest :(
Thanks for your supportive comment, Mona. I also thought the topic had been well and truly covered but it seems we were mistaken. Unfortunately it appears there are moderators who don't actually look!
Thanks Kezia, I appreciate that.
Oh no! I was wondering where you were today, Isabella! I figured you decided not to enter for some reason. I mean, anyone just has to look at this thread to see that you did NOT use an extra color - that topic had all been covered already! Good grief. I am so very sorry.
Yes, I did reply immediately, Rhonda. Before I posted about it here. No response at all as yet...
No way! Not fair! So sorry Isabella. This should have been in there!
You're right, I saw many questionable designs while on my fruitless search for my own. What is more confusing to me, Joan, is that this design had NO additional colours, and I had taken steps to make sure that anyone who bothered to look at it would be aware of this. I certainly don't appreciate what basically amounts to publicly being called a liar!
They have to be joking! Where is the equity in this "competition"!!? The timing of the e-mail seems to have been a bit cynical .... after midnight Australian time! Surely it would have been a simple solution for the Spoonflower people to verify the limited palette before taking the radical action of eliminating your design from the competition! I am assuming that you replied straight away to Stephen's email, have you had any response yet?
Weren't designs left in that had additional colors? That is confusing to me.
Btw: No, I didn't receive the mentioned note!
For anyone who is wondering why my design is not currently showing up in the competition, below is the text of an email I received from Stephen a few minutes before the competition went live:
"Just wondering if you got the note I sent yesterday about your design for the birds contest on Spoonflower? I was hoping you would have a chance to submit a corrected version before the contest voting!

Reason: 'This is an absolutely stunning design, but it does appear to use two shades of your 4th color (the gold/yellow). I would hate not to include this one. Can you upload a version that is four distinct colors and then email us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can enter it?'
This is so cute! Love the colors!
Thanks Rachel, ravenous, siya and Lucinda! I appreciate your comments.
Wow, love the cross hatch detail of the background. Overall, lovely design. The bee is cute.
This is a very nice birds and bees design. I like it!
Yummy like honey!
Amaaaaazing! You have come up with a design that would jazz up any home! Patty had a similar run in with using pixels in a color restricted flower contest but the SF community was extremely supportive and inclusive. At the end of the day, we are artists supporting artists, so horray!!
Thank you, Carol and demigoutte, for the lovely comments.
Super great design and textures !! So lovely! Bravo :)
Such a cool design and yes, very clever! I love it. - Carol
Thanks so much for the wonderful comments. Your supportive words mean a lot to me!
Fab, fab FAB! I love this.. well done on creating the tones.. clever!
Sorry, I questioned your design, but not every voter is going to view it on your page and see the close up in the comments. It is a very lovely design.
ooh, Isabella, this is absolutely wonderful! Great use of color in this fun and lively design!
A wonderful design- and well done on coming up with such a smart concept for achieving a second tone of yellow!
this is stunning xxx
This is a lovely design. It seems you have inadvertently got yourself some publicity here with your clever use of colour. Good for you! :o)
Btw, Isabella, as a moderator myself, it truly takes no time at all to give the handful of designs presented the full review required to see they meet the challenge. You've met them and I'm terribly sorry that you've received unnecessary comments with such a negative tone. It's really uncalled for. Once again, WONDERFUL job!!
A technical and aesthetic wonder. Amazing job, Isabella!
What a wonderful pattern! Beautiful work :o)
Lovely design. Absoultely love the way you have applied the cross hatching effect on the background. Now why didn't I think of that!!! :-)
Absolutely lovely, Isabella! You've got my vote!
Great design, great use of color and technique. Out of the box thinking is what sets this design apart by using crosshatching to achieve depth and texture.
I love the way you got that variation into the design with the cross hatching. I think it's great that you posted the detail picture though; because it removes the question, "Did she use an extra color?" for the moderators. I always look at the descriptions, and any pictures that have been posted, when I'm moderating. Also, Spoonflower is very specific that the moderators try to be inclusive, and not eliminate a design because of little bits of odd color that may be coming from the display. We are supposed to look for reasons to include the design, so the violation of a rule needs to be pretty blatant; for example if you had given the birds red eyes. Also, at least two moderators have to flag a design to be eliminated. You can also send Spoonflower amessage if they eliminate your design explaining why it was not in violation even if it appears to be. I know they've put designs back in on other occasions.
Love the texture and depth that you have achieved in this fabulous limited palette design - best of luck in the contest Isabella :)
I love it and it's absolutely within rules and spirit of contest rules. Rhonda you put it so beautifully. Go Isabella go. I hope you win this contest
Wow - I am so blown away at what lengths you went to to keep this design "honest"! Absolutely incredible! I love it even more. :)
I was very impressed that someone was talented enough to be able to abide by the rules but use the kind of "hatchwork" that gives this level of depth to their artwork.
I've seen the discussion come up on the "black and white" contest where the small black lines could fool the eye into seeing gray, but by checking closer it was clear that the palette restrictions were applied by the designer.
I cannot understand why would anyone choose to be a self-appointed moderator for Spoonflower competitions if they did not feel they had the time and expertise to give more than a cursory glance to any work that they were moderating! I could clearly see without any screen manipulation, that Isabella had not strayed from either the letter or the spirit of the colour-limited palette, if she should decide to enter the upcoming birds competition. I am totally bewildered that others have found any reason to take issue with this!
I had to go to your Flickr posting and blow your largest view up to 400% before I could see that there is really just a single yellow being used. I think it is putting too much on the moderators to have to go to that length to check for color compliance. All the dithering is driving me batty and I don't really think it is the intent of SF to have everyone working at the pixel level for these restricted palette challenges. Maybe they need better guidelines on this in the future. When contests require blown up image samples, jeweller's loupes and color sampler software to determine with any certainty if a violation of guidelines has occured, then it's getting ridiculous and you are demanding too much of the moderators. If a moderator booted this because it doesn't appear to cleanly meet the 4 color limit due to pixelation tricks, I would understand. If it's not clear in a SF FQ preview that a design meets the palette restrictions, don't expect a moderator to go to the ends of the earth to try to figure it out.
Thank you for your concern, khowardquilts. As you should be aware, Spoonflower compresses our files for public display to protect us from design theft while our fabric is printed from the full resolution file we upload. I assure you that I am very experienced with image creation and know how to control the number and exact code of the colours in my designs. This one contains only four as I have already mentioned in my description. However, you've prompted me to post a detail image so those who don't trust my word can see for themselves that there is really only one yellow in my design.

All About the Birds and the Bees - Yellow :
Thank you Joan, Su, Kelly, Mona, Jillian and Ms Eclectic, for all your positive comments. They're very much appreciated. xx
Very lovely, but that looks like two shades of yellow to me. Even when I used Ctrl + to zoom in as close as I could.
Lovely! So cute!
Beautiful design! Love the spiraled branch and how you've worked it into your repeat!
Very cute birds!
It looks absolutely fabulous - I don't know how you have managed to get so much attitude into the birds' faces. I see dappled rain in the background... golden rain.
It worked out great Isabella. I really like the color that you chose to expand the palette.
Thank you Rhonda, Virginia, Carina, Cynthia, Emma, Cathie, Julie and Kelly! I'm so glad you like my birds and bees design.
Effective layering and texture can be tricky to achieve with such a limited palette. Thanks, Kelly and Julie, for noticing my efforts. I was very careful to use only the three colours SF gave us plus my one allowed choice. I was aiming for a dappled sunshine effect in the background. I hope it worked!
Great design and the background has a beautiful layering effect. You did a great job with the limited palette and adding the yellow.
This is a beautiful design. I love the beehives and the background texture.
Wonderful design and colors!
Such a clever repeat! Good luck with next week's competition!
Very, very cute!
awww, this is soo delightful!!! :)
OOOOooo, this is fabulous!
This looks fabulous Isabella! I love how the cheeky chirpers balancing on the curly branches seem to be daring the bees to buzz past their hungry beaks!
