The colours have a lovely luminosity that does indeed evoke an image of stained glass.

It tends to be true of people's attitudes to a lot of sports and games. They do take them very seriously.
Bowling as a religion. Now THAT is so true for afficionados! It's a beautiful design.
It's also worth noting that, judging by my previous tests, there's a much bigger contrast range in those colours when printed than they appear on screen. So the darker stained details will be far more obvious. Indeed I may have to tone the contrast down even more to get the right printed effect.
It doesn't surprise me either that you were the one (or one of the very few) most likely to come up with similar ideas. :-D
<br>I still haven't decided which one to enter (and my computer might decide to die on me again, more permanently, before I make my mind up). The duckpins were my original joke but the bowling as a religion one is growing on me - and is prettier if less "cute".
Geek minds think alike!
My laptop has a very compressed display. Once I viewed your original I could see the curves. I had done my rotational design a couple of days earlier and entered it into the contest, but switched to the duckpins for my contest entry after getting some feedback and making some changes to it. I like your rotational design a lot more than the one that I did.
Those are not actually diamond overlays. For a start they're curved (fitting the bowling ball circles). They are separate but matching shaded details (as per a lot of stained glass) which define the bell flowers (based on some real ones) and the fleur-de-lys.
Aside: I feel like we're repeatedly stepping on each other this time round. First we had the same duckpin joke (though you got around to drawing yours long before I had any time for mine). Then, just when I'd done a rotational skittle design, I found that you'd uploaded one of those too!
This is a very attractive design. The tiny diamond overlays on the lines give it added zing.
