Karen, the area with the car also adds color, which livens the whole thing up a notch. I'm quite surprised how much I like it. I am wearing it to work today and will report on any reactions I get.

I'm interested in your preserving the horizon view above the street - it creates a strong horizontal line in the design - I wouldn't have thought that this would work, but it does! The play of flat space (near-view bike symbol) and receding horizon is really interesting
Thanks Su! I had to photo shop the red in, as I noticed that I hadn't shut the bathroom door, and a toilet peaking out from behind a fashionable item isn't really that chic!
Susan it looks fabulous, it actually lokks like a silk habutai - or some other thin silk - in the photo, from the drape etc. I really like the way you've centred the bike design: very effective. You're on a sewing roll now! Look forward to seeing more (P.S. Love the red backgroun for the photo too - shows the grays up very effectively)
I am thrilled with my "plan b"! The organic cotton sateen feels, looks, and sews like a dream.

Allida, thanks for your comment. I just received two yards in the sateen cotton and plan to make a pleated skirt with it, pleats along the vertical borders. I will post photos!
Great use of vanishing points here!
