This design was made from papercuts, a traditional way to do Hawaiian-style quilts. The applique fabric is folded and cut out to create the design. This border pattern is made from two Hawaiian-style papercuts I did years ago. It is available separately as a fabric. See it full-size at http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/541409 The center, with peacock feathers and butterflies, I cut earlier this year - while the power was out for several days in the winter - and decided it would work much better drawn in Illustrator! The wavy lines of the feathers are similar to the echo quilting which is characteristic of Hawaiian quilts. There is a coordinating design with repeating squares and the border pattern, which could be used for pillows. http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/717015 This is a revised version. There is also a cream background version of the center diamond area, at http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/716980
