This is a photograph of a rare bamboo roll down (think window shade) advertising banner that the Ford Motor Company produced as a promotional item to help new car dealers sell the ill-fated 1960 Edsel. The New! Nifty! Thrifty! Edsel for 1960 went on sale October 15, 1959, and was discontinued on November 19 of that same year, never making it to 1960 at all. 2846 were built, meaning some dealerships never even got one to sell.
Most never got this banner, which is what makes it so rare.
