Collection: Deco of the Sphinx
This artist creates a Cuisinart of abstract mirror designs borrowing bits from Victorian, Edwardian, paisley, and art nouveau. She also draws orphan cars, and adapts a few very old ads. Most of her work is hand drawn with twists, vines & Celtic knots.

The automotive designs are done for money. I sell them to members of the car clubs that I belong to.
The "paisleys" (which aren't technically paisley in the classic sense of the word) I do for love.
You know how a dancer has to dance, and a runner has to run, whether there is any money in it or not. And an artist has to art.
Even if I never make a cent at it, I draw those designs every day, and have since I was ten or so. (Though not the every day part--but the earliest ones were in elementary school to use up the time so I would run out of time to do math).
Once in a while I get somebody who wants to buy the original art. But when I found Spoonflower for the auto stuff, there were these 20 volumes of these things on a shelf. Same price to create them as to create a car.
Heck, once in a while a few of the paisleys sell too!

beautiful! I'd only seen your auto designs thus far - these are so delightfully different!
