Featuring Laka, a forest deity, protecting the Lehua blossom, which originally was a Hawaiian lady who was transformed into a flower to be placed onto a tree which also used to be her handsome lover, ʻŌhiʻa. Story goes that you should not pluck the flower from the tree and separate the lovers.

You will also see in this design some endemic Polynesian plants and a native Hawaiian bird which sadly, is now extinct.
