All the designs I do somehow come out as fabric designs. They may start as photos, drawings, embroidery, dye-painted fabrics, batiks or virtual batiks, or even typography, but they all lead to fabrics. Often they are Art Nouveau or William Morris inspired

Seize the day? (Carpe diem) No, seize the coffee first! I have made this design smaller while getting a swatch; I may leave it this way.Yes, it's a nice size. The fabric prints very much as it looks here; the bluegreen is a little darker. I'm making it available for sale - let me know if you would like it sized larger. Coordinating t-shirts, in case you wanted this for pajama pants, are available from my Cafepress designs: http://www.cafepress.com/wrwcolors/7912765

Or cafe curtains...
Posted about 5 years ago.
weavingmajor - pajama pants, what a great idea. At this scale, I was thinking of kitchen or breakfast room curtains. I did a slightly smaller one sideways for tea-towels.
Or you could say 'carpe caffeine'? ;o) but I like 'seize the coffee' in English just fine. And in a smaller scale on the knit I think it would make some excellent pajama pants! Love the colors and the scallop effect and of course the sentiment too.
Victoria - I was wondering about "carpe cappucino", since cafe is French, and cappucino is at least Italian. Of course, I don't think there was coffee in ancient Rome, was there? I'm going to consult some experts.
Oh, I really like your colors.
Would that be carpe cafe? Hahaha, can't seize the day if you don't seize the coffee first, right? (Actually, the closest I could get it was "carpe quidam capulus"/"seize some coffee", but that just doesn't have the same ring to it)
