Description: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 2113 Robo Derby Championships! Tonight it's the Bloody Flux Capacitors versus the Maim Frames! Star Capacitors i Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 2113 Robo Derby Championships! Tonight it's the Bloody Flux Capacitors versus the Maim Frames! Star Capacitors include jammer Oilivia Neutron John (known for her hard drives), and the unstoppable blockers MechaNicole, Robota Whack, Auntie Virus, and Anita Wrench. Maim Framers of note are Maria Von Scrap as jammer and the unbreakable firewall of blockers Lynn Tin Tin, Cylonnie Anderson, Gear Abby, and Volt Magnum. So strap yourselves down folks, it's time to get down to brass attacks! ( This is a weird entry that came out of left field when I was attempting to do an Art Deco take. I think I have the 1927 Fritz Lang film Metropolis to thank for these rolling robot ladies.)

ceanirm...

ceanirminger says: Thanks Jo! Yup, I got the skates and the old body isn't what it used to be, though I've avoided injury. My husband ( who use to play hockey) pulled out his rollerblades and he is utterly fantastic! It's like seeing a seal in water. Backwards, forwards, it makes no difference. I skate like a turd beside him.

uzumakijo says: Wow!!! this is properly amazing Cean!! I'm a bit late with the old comment here, so pretty much everything I was going to say has been said already....Awesome illustrations, fantastic movement, brilliant layout and repeat, just totally wicked and supercool!! Good luck with the skating too, I had a bit of a fling with rollerkating about a year ago, I used to love rollerdisco back in the 80's and to try to recapture my youth I bought some skates....oh dear it really wasn't as easy as I remembered and I didn't look as cool as i remember doing back in the day...I'm not sure if you can look cool lying on your back shouting ouch whilst a couple of 10yr olds come whizzing past skating BACKWARDS!! and laughing!! hope your attempts fair much better:)

It's so satisfying to draw robots ladies smashing into each other and flipping through the air that I feel this contest has already paid for itself, but then you come in with your awesome comments and it's even funner! Thanks so much!
