Entry in the One Yard Skirt Contest: stripes are so hard to join exactly when sewing I thought they made a good subject for this challenging exercise. My original sketch which has red top-stitching across the pockets and down the centre front (now faux) seam. For people who sew clothing this is definitely where on-demand fabric printing is going and a good thing too: no more mucking around with paper patterns!

Thank you Wren and Deborah for your nice comments on this. You remind me that I should reposition the instructions so they can be read in the swatch view (on my list now!)

You are so talented, Su.
Diagonal pockets are definitely worthwhile. I hope people are wearing this great pencil skirt!

Thank you everyone for your encouraging comments, I really appreciate them - especially having just looked through the many very creative entries for this contest: what an amazing talent pool: you have all given me lots of new ideas. The best thing was all the different pockets!

Nicely designed skirt shape with good use of stripe pattern, very chic :)
elegant pattern design!
You make a good point about matching stripes. I like how your design works to deal with that problem. The skirt is a very pretty blue.
This is an excellent skirt pattern, Su. It's a wonderful way to have perfectly matched diagonals and no wasted fabric!
Lovely in periwinkle!
