Message me for resizing designs or colors changes and turning designs 90 degrees to better use the fabric. I share an interest in fabric design with my sister ArtbyJaneWalker . I'm a quilter and have a love of fabric. I can set up photos for pillows.

After many variations I have chosen this as my contest entry. Please notice the many patterns this creates while showing off the butterflies. I chose this one because of the circular secondary design that appears.

This has been revised since the contest. See Orange and blue butterflies 18 for actual entry.

khoward...

khowardquilts says: I have swatched this , but it needs just a little fixing before I offer it for sale. A couple of details were lost because the dark green and the blue print too close in value. That is hard to believe but the blue prints much darker.

mondaland

mondaland says: It reminds me of a William Morris print (no bad thing!) - the colours are heavy but they do work well together here.

lucindawei says: Such a lovely repeat.

khoward...

khowardquilts says: It works as a single repeat just fine, but the mirrored repeat gives it different repeats of the butterflies. As a single repeat, the blue butterflies form diagonal rows in one direction and the orange in the other, but mirrored they go both ways.

khoward...

khowardquilts says: Circles as a secondary design. I love quilts that look curved but have straight lines to sew.

khoward...

khowardquilts says: It was hard to choose. The last ones that I did Have all the elements mirrored instead of just drawn. I went with the one I liked best. Some gave the appearance of four pointed stars which was great, but when this last one gave the appearance of circles, I knew this was the one.

rhondadesigns says: This is a very appealing all-over print. You have made the colours work together really well. All of the different versions of your design look attractive , however did you choose just one?
